Hand carved 'old man of the wood' out of random hardwood kindling.
It's been murder trying to get a good piccie of this thanks to an over-dark finish (indian rosewood stain, gloss varnish) ... I can help thinking that I should have sanded a bit of the stain to highlight the detail a bit better.
The hair is leaves, the skull cap has a rudimentary celtic design on it and the rest is as it looks.

I like it! (as well as the little 'totem' carving). Thanks for collecting my skull images. I don't know if you saw the other carved wood posting [link] in my gallery. As a carver for many years, I admire your choice of wood (random hardwood kindling). Many of the pieces I've carved were 'found' items (roots, deadfall scraps, broken shovel handles, etc.). Keep up the great work!

Thanks very mcuh Mr Savage, and thanks for the fav
The skull images are quite fantastic, I particularly like the larger one - nice imagery. I was going to leave a wee comment but my wee boy was pestering me ... he's quite the fan of the bull's head you've got in your gallery
I must have missed your other carvings first time through your gallery though, but I really like the carved hammer ... good work!

Thanks for the compliments! I think I have a few 'before and after' pics of the bull skull on file. I'll try to post some in the next day or so. Keep watching...

We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
Please FULL VIEW all these amazing pieces of ART. Visit the artists pages and give them a :+fav and your support. Thank you for taking the time........
